Window Tint...
I just came from the shop getting a quote. He quoted me $205 for a 3 year warranty tint, and 300+ for the 3M lifetime warranty tint. I didn't think it was so expensive either.
As far as the expense goes, it does seem like a lot and that is why I put it off for a few years. But I live in Florida and our cars have a lot of glass, so I broke down and did it over a year ago.
Bottom Line:
It makes a HUGE difference and I wish I had done it years ago. No regrets.

LeSabreUltra,
Whatever you decide to do, please post pics of the finished product; I'm thinking of getting some tint done on my 98 LeSabre, and I want to see your results.
General question for all:
Has anyone ever gotten JUST the back window done? Would that look like a$$?
(Main concern being keeping the beating mid-afternoon sun off the kids in the backseat during long drives through the desert)

i would do 20% all the way around in black... mirror would sort of take something away from such a classy looking car in my opinion.
what did the five fingers say to the face?

SLAP
Well, it came down to me having a couple hundred to spend on the item of my choice...
And I went with this:

Dual exhaust! I don't understand why I didn't do it in the first place. Sounds fuller now, and in stereo with the windows down.

But I'm also one that thinks that non-conformity between the back and front glass looks bad.

I see illegal tints all the time here, and I'm not as likely to get ticketed as a fart-canned ricer, but still...
Wow! Only 70% on the front windows? Sheesh!
At least they allow 30% on the fronts in Florida.
While I also like the same tint all the way around from a sheer looks perspective, I am not above doing something if practicality dictates it. In your case of wanting to keep the sun off the kids, I would be tempted to just put aside the vanity and do what needed to be done.
