Default what'* best for factory woodgrain dash?

at wrecker today, picked up a factory woodgrain dash panel from a '92 sse, want to put it on my '95. the panel is plastic, but the woodgrain pattern is vinyl (I think) and then there'* some sort of clear protective coating over the woodgrain. What type of product should I use to get the best appearance? Should I use a vinyl cleaner, a plastic cleaner (like what I use on my taillights) or can I actually polish & wax it like an exterior surface? thanx

Personally I wouldn't use a wax unless it is SPECIFICALLY designed for plastic or safe for plastic. And windex should clean it up just fine, test it in an inconspicuous area first of course. Diluted 75% water simple green should work too. I like windex'* streak free shine.
