Default Bye bye woodgrain! (and some more) Update.

Ever since I got my '92, I could not stand the woodgrain dash surround in it. It just did not match anything in the car, so I went to Autozone and picked up a can of this Duplicolor metal speckle paint. It is "Charcoal gray", and is the closest matching non-OEM paint with specks I have found. It has a nice texture to it and does bond to plastic.

Here are some before and after pics of the results -

Now that looks really really nice

I might just want to do that to my surround even though it is already gray

how long before you get tired of the two-tone look and repaint all of the black areas to match?

Yeah it looks really good. I may do other certain pieces, but other than, it kinda matches except for the metal specks.
