So what would you guys suggest I do? Dremel sand the paint off, then use some sort of primer and do a couple coats? What kind of paint would I use?

I really want to do this now...along with some dark black tint on the windows...

Optimally, media blasting would be the best, and MUCH faster.

Well, I don't have the provisions to do media blasting...nor do I know how. I will have to figure something out.

Original.

And a quickie in PS.

Not really. It'* not paint, it'* powdercoat. Sandblasting didn't put a dent in it when I did mine. Repeated applications of KleenStrip aircraft paint remover and hours of work per wheel were needed to get mine down to bare metal for repainting.

Is there anything on those wheels that would be suseptible to heat? You could find a local stripper to burn the paint off if it'* powder coating. They charge us a lot charge of $35 or $.50 a pound, whichever is higher. Though I'm sure they would charge more to an individual, unless you know someone in manufacturing that could have it done for you.

I don't think that would be a good idea on a cast aluminum wheel. I would think that it might warp or crack the casting. Chemically removing the original trowled on powdercoat is probably the safest way to get the stuff off. It'* just very time consuming and messy.
