Default type of paint

for any of you paint guys what type of paint should i use for the rims. i was thinking just using regular old rattle can (im really good with it before you laugh i know time consuming but i dont want to buy a paint set up) so do i HAVE to use wheel paint is there any differnce? if there isnt a differnce would it be better to use any type? ive used duplicolor and been happy with it so far but i dont want it to come off its a lot of work im anal with paint

I used spray can rim paint on some old 1988 Mustang GT Turbine style wheels and they came out really good. All I did was tape off the shiny areas of the rims and prepsol the areas i was going to paint. It lasted adout a year and a half before I sold them. I know I schould have scuffed them or something but I didnt.

Try using self etching primer before you paint, that should help keep the paint on the rims.
