I decided to elimnate my antenna on the silverado..just gets in my way

So first i unscrewed the antenna then i screwed it back in upside down and cut it off woth a cut off wheel on the underside and the welded the blt on the top then ground clean/smooth on both side then adheared it to it base then painted it after bondoing to fill in stock groovs and grinding grooves.then mated it back on the truck here are some pics


What i started with(used my dad ram for the pic forgot to take a before pic on my tuck)

after cutting welding and grinding..

with the bondo to fill grooves

after sanded smooth...Being attached to the base..waiting for the adheasive to dry
and the almost finished product(no paint is now painted black)

that pic was the first mock up but its pretty much what it looks like..Have more pics with paint and finished just have to wait for the phone to get back that they are on ...Please comment

Did the radio reception get any worse?

no need for the stock antenna... with the cd player i have to go in it i also have a short magnetic antenna that goes with it..Its on the roof of the truck and the stock radio doesnt work anyways
