I use the Groit Garage'* yellow clay and Speed Shine product takes about 2 to three hours if the car'* never been done, and only 1 hour or less if you are doing a maintenance claying.
It does take time. Especially to do it right. My wife doesn't understand. You think she would, if you know what I mean.

Clay Bar
I wasn't a believer in the caly bar until......... well you know!! I bought my bonny used and the paint was covered with loads of contaminints. A friend and I washed my car, clay barred it then waxed. Then it made her look just as new again. Very happy with the results. Will post pics as soon as camera gets fixed.

I gotta get to doing the clay bar to the GA, but alas I'm not quite THAT bored yet.

I used the Mothers clay bar system. True, use lots of detail spray. Dont forget to keep wadding and folding the clay bar so your not rubbing the particles on to the paint that your cleaning off the car. Patience is a virtue when claying!

I did actually get mine to work this time. I was impressed by how well it took out the black tar-like spots and some of the little white scratches. Now I think that I thought it wasn't working on the Bonne, when it really was but I couldn't really see what it was doing (since black spots don't really show on a black car).
