Default Question on Paint for Corner Lights

so i cleared my corners last night, bought some high temp grey paint and coated amber bulbs with it [one coat] and left it sitting overnight before putting it in. when i checked the bulbs out to make sure them worked, i noticed some smoke or something coming off one of the lights. my concern is: does the high temp paint hold in heat? id hate to have one of my bulbs [or both of them] explode because i used the wrong paint. should i be concerned?

Don't worry about it. It should just burn off some residual chemicals in the paint.

Scrape up the money and go buy some Silverstar turn signal bulbs. $20 a pair though. They look better IMO.

Bright yellow. Brighter than having the amber plastic in the lights, actually. They are a great bulb. Can't say the same for their headlights though.
I liked the way they looked because it gives a faint bluish tint when not lit (which went well with my silver car), and it doesn't look as tacky as having a dull grey bulb in your lamp assy.
