So I'm gonna be doing the brakes on the Bonnie this summer. I want to paint the calipers and drums black to hide behind the wheels and I found brake rotors that have a black coating as well.

So just one question, if I'm trying to be creative and stuff. Will painting on the rotors in the unswept area hurt braking performance? If the paint can take the temperatures and will bond to the rotor and doesn't get under the pads I don't see how it could affect performance. Maybe the paint will insulate the metal behind it form radiating heat causeing hot spots maybe? dunno, just a thought.

if you want to paint something, paint the calipers. There is a guide at the top of this forum. I would leave the rotors alone, the heat will probably kill any paint you try to put on them. Last thing you want to do is get your calipers all gummed up and have to replace them.
