Default Paint crisis

I'm wondering if someone can't help me out. It is extrememly obvious some a$$ in a white car hit my front bumper and traded paint with me. There is white paint all over my front bumper now and I want to get it off without ruining the clear coat. I have some product that I forget the name of but it is an abrasive compound. Before I use that I want to know is there a better solution?
Thanks
-JP

I have had some luck using turtle wax bug and tar remover for this. And in some areas, some very careful scraping with a credit card took it off.
