Default New Bumper?

Howdy ya'll, I was just wondering what your take was on this. I have a 00 SSEi with 100,000 miles and eventhough the paint is in super shape on most of the car, the front bumper has some issues. First, the paint is just worn down. There is almost no shine at all, and there is quite a bit of bug-impact damage. Second, the honeycomb mesh type inserts have some damage and are cracked in some spots. I was wondering, how much would a new front bumper run, or should I just have it painted and get knew inserts? I had my 93 Maxima completly painted years ago and I don't wanna have to go to all that trouble again. Thanks.

Have you tried claybar? That will at least get rid of the bugs and other cantamination that could be discoloring the bumper. Then I would try buffing it out.

Default not yet.

This weekend I'm really gonna set aside some time to work on the car some. I bought some of that ICE polish and hopefully that will help bring it back some. But I may end up just getting a new bumper altogether, especially since all the other paint looks good.
But I'm not familure with the "Clay Bar."

Go to any auto parts store. They usually have one from Clay Magic or Meguiars. It'* just a bar of clay. They come with a spray, or you can use it as you wash the car. You just make sure the car is good and soapy or lubed with the spray, and rub the clay across the surface. You'll feel all the crud as the clay goes over it, and the clay will pick up all of the junk in the paint surface. The surface will basically feel sort of sticky and rough, and once the clay has picked up the contaminants, it will be nice and slick. Then just reform the clay every so often so you aren't rubbing the dirt on other parts of the car. It works awesome at getting out stuck on bugs, tar, and other stuff that won't come out with washing.
