wow...sorry about that...im surprised that they didn't paint your headlights and tail lights, but seriously how do you paint over fog lights. Those creases in the paint are no good.

all that is, is Bad Prep... maybe not in what you did, but the masking and washing before paint was done very bad.

most of the over spray will come off with some strong thinners on a rag (DONT get any on the plactic len'*)

the fog light thing is just friggin' rediculas IMO they sure made a mess of your quarters, that spoiler should have come OFF the car!

and those window moldings... well the ONLY way to fix that is to replace, which means removing the Glass.

I wish you luck sir

ok now that you seen some of the damage i also fell i should not let them fix the car but after seeing the pics do you'* think i have a good court case to sue for replacemnt of all damaged parts like window molding, fog lights, headlights and tail lights plus what ever it cost for the car to be done the right wya at another shop.?

( i have a certifed body and paint shop that does insurance work in my area that will write a detailed letter explaining how maaco did not prep the car and how the thinned out the paint too much for it to crack like this only if i agree to bring the car back to him and let him fix it.) he wants to be known as the guy that fix'* maaco'* work he said

you will NOT get money to have it fixed at another shot unless you give them an opportunity to fix it themselves.

Sorry to see the shotty paint job. I've been watching this develop for a while, and now time for my .02.

As stated above, you need to let Macco try to fix what they did. If you don't, you'll end up right where you are now, nothing will change. If you let them fix it, one of two things will happen. 1) they will actually fix it, make it better, and give you what you paid for, or 2) make it no better or worse, in which case you now have even more proof of their poor workmanship and lack of skill to use against them. That'* about all that can happen for getting it fixed.

Now, to live and learn, you do have some power over them (whether you know it or not). You are a member of a forum here that has over 9500 members. There are now 9500 members (+those who just happen to pass thru) that now know what the discounted Macco paint job provides, and will most likely learn from it, or at least be more aware of the Macco quaility. What this means to Macco is that now they have a very powerful source of car knowledge against them. to turn away potential future clients. For them not to help you get your car right has the potential to hurt thier business, probably won't hurt them much, but some non the less.

Side note, want to have fun? Park your car in a busy parking lot, not to far from the Macco, and put a sign on it saying something like (this is the quality Macco paint job), and see if they are still proud of their work.

i think i might try this over the weekend..

update: 2/28/08 3:42 pm

i just recieved a phone call from AL ( owner of maaco that painted my car ) and he said he just seen the pics of the damage that the cooperate office sent over to him and he was so appoligetic and asked ( practically begged ) me to bring my car in tomorrow and give him a chance do take care of all the issues so i mentioned if he will be repainting the car and he was silence then came back and said why dont we take this one step at a time and you bring the car in first so i can physically see the damage..

so i said to him. did you not see the damage when i first complained about it before you walked away from me and he said im sorry i dont rember that..

well i think i will definetly drop the car off to him and see what else he does to it
i mean see how he fixes it.

then when i get it back if its still horrible i will be going to court to seek leagal action and reimbursment..

i especially love the way he sounded like he was begging for me ot drop the car off to him..

It sounds like he has no intention of re-painting it... which NEEDS to be done if you want it completely fixed. Tell him you will take it to court if it isn't resolved. hopefully he will realize that a re-paint will be cheaper than court.
