i am in need of some decent headlight bulbs for my yukon and normally buy silverstars, i came across these and was wondering if anyone has used them and how they are for longevity/brightness/quality

Those should NOT be used as headlight bulbs. They are for appearance, not performance.

If you want good halegeon bulbs, go with the options from Phillips.

Yep. If you want performance LEDs check out the Cree style. They work great as reverse bulbs.

i dont really need back up lights, the truck had really cloudy headlights when i got it and i cant see very well. i got new housings but put the oem bulbs back in it. still cant see very well so im going to put something different in it, but im not going to spend a ton on it because i dont drive it that often let alone in the dark. i was looking at the ddm hids you said you have in the other thread, do you need the harness and all that extra stuff they try to sell you?

Justin,

Do you wear glasses? I had bad headlights- or so I thought. Ended up being bad eyesight, needed glasses to see at night. What a difference glasses do for my vision at night. Didn't need them until I was near 40 years old.

Nope. Just buy the bulb type for your truck, and the color you want. I bought 5000k for both the truck and the Bonne. No harness in either, they fire up perfect every time.

Only thing you gotta do is make sure when its dark enough for auto-lights that you disable the AHL or turn them off. The way I do it on the vehicles is this: Turn key to on, turn off headlights, start vehicle, wait 5 seconds for voltage to stabilize, turn on headlights.

I run analog ballasts in the truck and digital in the car. This helps keep them at a stable voltage and extends ballast life.

Also, on the Cree bulbs;

I wasn't saying you need backup bulbs, but that is their most common usage. I think they make them in 9006 too, not sure.
