A friend gave me a Deskjet 970CXI that he hadn't used in over a year. I had it in the back seat for a couple days before I brought it in. When I took it out of the car, I failed to notice that it had leaked a mixture of all 4 inks. Made a NASTY dark green spot....actually about 4 spots the size of an orange to golfball each, on the back seat. It dried for 4 days without me noticing, as I had some paperwork hiding it.

Scared the hell out of me when I found it this morning. Lilpooky and her little sister gave me an Armor-all gift pack for the car for Xmas. In an act of desperation, I got out the Armor All Orange Cleaning Wipes, and went to town on the stain. Not what I expected.

One swipe. ONE. No ink. It probably helped that I keep the seats conditioned, but I'm still impressed.

Dead serious, and hp is known for colorfast/waterfast inks.

Anything orange based is a powerful cleaner. When I was screen printing, we used a citrus based cleanser that would take the ink off of decals that were a year or two old. Granted, this stuff was almost pure citric acid, unlike the watered down, safe for housewives (No offens PMom) stuff you get over the counter, but anything with Citric Acid, combined with the appropriate elbow grease, is an excellent cleaner.

I've considered getting some of the OTC stuff, and trying to reduce it (boil it down, like gravy), but as I am not a chemist, I don't know what would evaporate first.

Me too! They work wonders...never tried them on ink...but they do work great in general...
