Default HID installation

I attempted to install my HID onto my Aurora today, but ran into a lot of problems. Most having to do with where to MOUNT things. I keep being warned that the ballast/igniter need to be mounted somewhere that will never get wet, or be near moisture, which I don't even think is possible. They seemed completely sealed off to me. It'* a Phillips kit so the quality is good. It'd be great to see what some of the 2000+ members did, especially on a GXP to install their HID'*. I feel stupid not being able to install this easily, it shouldn't be this hard. I just have no idea where to be mounting this stuff. Any help would be AWESOME! thanks.

they make drop in kits, however, the light scatters improperly, and can create dangerous glare to oncoming drivers, not to mention that this practice is illegal

Thanks for the tips. As for the glare problem, yes I am aware of this and I am going to see how the factory projectors do as far as that is concerned. if it'* an issue, I will look into HID projectors. However, there have been several members on ACNA that have put HID on their 2nd gen Aurora, and glare has NOT been an issue. The cut-off point is still crisp, and the light spread is even, not scattered around like a lot of "kit" pictures I have seen. We'll see though after the installation is complete.

1. That picutre is so out of focus its worthless

2. Compare the cutoff and "not scattered" vs a car with factory HIDs or with HID projectors.

Remember Rob, custom has OEM projectors in his Aurora, so the light output will be completely different than on a Bonneville
