I use the hot rims from meguiars too but never actually read the instructions. I wet my rims too though.

worst case they turn you down, which only leaves you where you are right now anyways, you wont know unless you try.

For the future, always try just a little bit on a part of the wheel before going on the entire wheel to make sure the chemicals don't react.
But yeah it sucks. That product usually rocks.

They'll ask for product batch code and also how much you paid for it. I got the 6.88 I spent on the TB cleaner back from the company after stripping the epoxy off the rotors.
