Hello.. I came across a set of Bonneville chrome wheels and tires, factory from a '98 SSE. The faces of these wheels are fantastic, no curb rash, no knicks, no pitting. Two of them hold air, two do not... leaking around the valve stem, there is some corrosion in there.
The back sides have some corrosion, and those of you who have seen it you know how the chrome tends to hold in the moisture and corrosion more than the anodized/clearcoated aluminum wheels. The best wheels has only a few 1/4 inch sized raised spots, easily wire-brushed out, then I can coat the spot with something to keep it from continuing . The worst wheel has a pretty big spot, and upon cleaning with a wire brush I see that the pitting is pretty deep.. It does not leak at this spot. Is there anything that can be done to fix this? I'm not concerned about appearance, it can't be seen when installed. Again, the faces of these wheels are perfect / near perfect.
Also, I have a brand new set of gold wheels, so I don't know if I even want to use these chrome wheels.. What kind of value do these wheels hold? Thanks, Mike.

The tires are fairly used up, but not illegal. No sidewall scuffs at all. During lunch, I brought the tire/wheel to have it dismounted, the tire guy said he saw no problem at all with that wheel, there is some corrosion where the bead goes, no surprise, but he said based on others he'* seen, the wheel was in "great shape, overall... No concerns whatsoever!!"
Anyone local want these things, can come by and see them, so there are no surprises at all? Northeast Ohio. Mike
