Default Busy Weekend Detailing - (14) 800x600 pics

I spent the weekend cleaning up the car. I focused on the engine bay and did a few other little touches I've been wanting to do for a while. Since painting my valve covers I've been set on REALLY making the engine bay cleaner.

I painted the coolant and washer fluid tanks today. Dirty, stained tanks don't look good against a clean engine. I spent so much time painting various parts I didn't have time to actually clean. lol I'm still far from done under the hood.

I painted several other things; BCA/BCS, TB bracket, alternator bracket, repainted alternator, and freshened up the LIM, TB, ELC pump, etc.

looking very good Pete,

why didnt you leave a viewing window on the washer tank? I know it * got a sensor, but you wpouldnt want to run out on a long trip or anything :?

anyway, still likin' the what you've done

Not really a fan of the painted bottles myself.

The Speaker grilles show off the 4 way supports to, i'd rather put a metal aftermarket one on that'* black IMO.. Why'd you choose silver? seems to clash with the tan interior IMO..

MUCH tamer than the original DrugRunner. I'm staying away from bright colors, and sticking with neutrals to keep a more stock look. I painted the bottles cast iron as black would have been way too attention-grabbing in my engine bay.

Pete, honestly, before painting the washer fluid tank I did not plan on leaving a window open on it. Since the DIC would tell me when to fill it it doesn't bother me at all that it'* completely painted. After applying some color coats, I remembered again about the possibility of a window, but it was too late to add one if I wanted to. It'* no different than having a 2000+ with the washer fluid bottle that you can't even see.

It takes me MONTHS to empty the washer fluid tank. This thing is HUGE. Plus I carry an extra bottle in the trunk (most of the time).

The door handles were the new mod in the pictures. The speaker grilles I did last August. I chose silver as I knew I was eventually going to do silver door handles (I wished to find chrome), and a few other silver touches on the interior. I really like the silver actually. I never thought it clashed, but rather it was a nice accent color that went along with my theme.

The black grilles that came with the Eclipse speakers looked really sweet, but they were too big. Plus I wanted to keep the stock grills. I took the Eclipse badges off the aftermarket grilles and put them on these.

Is there anything you haven't put your magic touch on?

Looking very nice. All the little details add up to your own unique car.

Yep, I moved myself over here. This is more just bits and pieces of details.

Painted bottles FTW! :P It was either $40 for new bottles, or $8 for paint.
