FYI...I read somewhere that you should never put oil on the lug nuts. Using oil takes away the friction that keeps the nuts tight.
That is just wrong.
It is not the friction that keeps them tight, it'* the torque that does it. Correct torquing stretches the studs and prevents loosening of the nuts. In fact, using a lubricant is recommended for achieving accurate torquing of any bolt or nut.
If you drive in winter conditions, it is highly recommended to use never sieze on the lug nuts.
