hey guys. i was lookin around craigslist and theres this guy who wants to charge $175 to change cluster bulbs. but the thing that stood out to me was the fact he changed the DIC color. ive never had my cluster out so i dont know if its just a film or what and i was just wondering how he did it. any help is appreciated!

It depends on if they are LED or regular bulbs. Most of the time they use colored condoms over the bulbs to change color. I suppose it shouldn't be too difficult to do. You would have to be proficient in confined spaces with a soldering iron and proficient with the placement of LED'*. They can only install one way.

when i pulled apart my 03 monte'* hvac control the bulbs where filament bulbs soldered to the board. leds dont dim that well as far as range of dimming so i imagine most are similar. so like mike said you might be able to find rubber or a spray coat somewhere or they might have something at radio shack thats already tinted. there might also be something you could do to the cover to change the color too, some people used to tint the plastic covers for lights with colored cellophane

$175 to change those bulbs?! Guy must be making a killing.
