Well I tried the peanut butter, no dice. I think the oil it it did help a little, giving it a slight sheen to make it a little more presentable, but it'* still just dull looking.

That trim is terrible it will eventually fade and even peel as mine di.I took it all off and sanded and painted , then clearcoat and it looks like new.
