Anodizing provides protection against oxidation. If you stripped of the anodizing you might want to clear coat them.

Yeah definately,, I used the clear sealer, it prevents oxidation and keeps it shiney
I would hate to go through all this again. just to repolish them,
wonder why GM used alum, instead of stainless? the only aluminum trim on the car
