Default autronic eye

I recently picked up a vintage autronic eye kit..does anyone know which side of the dash the dealers installed these on in 57?

Also...the eye was shipped in a grey/ilver lacquer, was it common to paint the eye to match the interior?

Have you looked at similar cars on ebay? You might be able to find a picture that helps you determine where it goes.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Left Side

As you can see they did paint the autronic eye to match the interior color.

Just in case the rest of you want to know that this "thing" did, it automatically dimmed the drivers hi-beams when it approached an on-coming car (when it worked).

Also, note the Speedometer Indicator.
