Default Trac Control/ABS malfunction

Hi guys, so here'* the scenario: during light acceleration from stop, sometimes the TRAC ACTIVE light on the message center will come on and you can hear and sometimes feel that vibrating sound which I'm guessing is the TRAC control doing its job. It happens a lot in parking lots, more so than traffic lights. On a rare occassion, it will continue until I get a TRAC OFF and ABS light.on the dash and a Service ABS warning. Also, on occassion during light braking, or no braking at all (not accelerating either) I will hear what I think is the ABS braking system activate. Sounds like what I'd expect to hear when I skid on ice. But I'm in Hawaii, so no ice. Would there be error codes stored on the computer? What sensors should I be looking at?

thanks, I'll try to answer questions promptly.

there are four wheel sensors that could be a problem, i would think there would be stored codes if the service abs light came on, but you need a scanner that is capable of body codes. see if the parts stores have one that they do for free. it would help to narrow it down because it doesn't necessarily have to be a wheel sensor though it is most times. make sure your tires are same pressure and type/size as well that will cause issues

Second. Both systems use the wheel speed sensors that are integrated into the wheel hubs. Assuming your tires are good, you might be looking at replacing one or more hub assemblies.

Your best option now is to remove each tire individually (and brake rotor, if you can) and make sure the wire tucked back there is connected and undamaged. That'* about all I know you can do to test a WSS without a fancy code reader.
