Default timing reference high res. signal A

I am getting a trouble code of P0372 which I know is the high res timing signal, but would that be associated with the ignition control mod. or is it the signal from the distributor. The car starts and run fine, but intermittently will die and it will be difficult to start. I will have to crank it two or three times and rev it up real good and will run ok again. thanks for any help and info.

Also check if the w/p weep hole is leaking on the distributor.....

Just checking the cap is a major job.......

mileage? Vehicle ever tuned up? Cap/rotors/wires/plugs ever changed?

sorry could not get back sooner. yes car has been tuned up (plugs auotlite iridium, msd wires and msd distributor), car has 218k plus on it. w/p weep hole does not show signs of leaking. still have to get into the cap and check it out, what a major pain in the butt that is.

Stay away from aftermarket caps. A/c delco is the best way to go on that.
