I have a 2015 sonic sedan with a 1.8, the engine is a LUW code. I am having difficulty finding a replacement exhaust cam for it. The original cam has lost part of the reluctor(sp) wheel a tooth was damaged. What exhaust cam will work in this engine? It is a discontinued part number and the vehicle has less than 110k on it. I purchased the vehicle new and would like to continue driving it.

How can you be sure that there isn't other damage to the engine?

This is probably a junkyard part, and might be something where you need to buy a whole engine to get it. Maybe you can get lucky and find one that had some other failure and pull a cam from that one.
