Default need 502 info

I'm working on a GM 502 which I think is a Gen 5 version as it does not have provisions for a mechanical fuel pump.

I thought all BBC engines after the MK IV would have roller cams. This motor has a hydraulic flat tappet cam????

It also has a sheet metal MK IV like front cam cover? Again I thought it would have a cast aluminum cover??

The numbers on the cam are; 941861 6209 on the aft end. Can someone tell me anything about that cam? I searched and didn't find anything.

The block casting# is; 14096859 Mortec says; Gen 5 502

Head casting# is;14097088

I need educated on GEN 5 BBC
Any help is appreciated.

For the most part yes. This forum is geared to the do-it-yourself-er.

My I suggest taking a peek at our sister forum?
