Update-ish. After lots of procrastination. I took her back out and took the pump off. The seal rings on the input shaft were actually good. (Must've had a dream that one was broken). But I did notice that the parking paul was not in the little pit deal so to speak on the 2-4 band. Would that cause me not to move forward? Everything else I've looked at checks out.

Ok, so now I need the big red IDIOT stamp to put on my forehead. When I put the tranny back together, I forgot to put the drive gear in that slides into the rear planetary. Thus not able to move forward. (Don't worry I feel like I should have let my 5 year old son do the work for me.)
Now my new issue........I reversed the truck back onto the ramps, had to switch into 4wd because of rear tire spin. After everything is put back together, I am now stuck in 4Lo. 4wd service light is on, and the 4wd selector panel will not light up or let me get out of 4Lo. Tccm? I hope not. Does anyone have any tricks to fix that? I'm an extreme noob when it comes to electronic 4wd. (Once again what the @&#%#%% was Chevy thinking putting all these electronics on their vehicles?)

sometimes it likes to be in neutral to switch, sometimes it has to be rolling slowly, probably depends on how its lined up. i would disconnect the connectors reconnect and try going to 2wd or something different. it seems flaky to me, sometimes it just hangs up or something

I've tried those. Tried pulling out fuses, pulled the switch panel to play with it. It won't do anything unless the lights on the panel light up. I'm going to crawl under today and see if maybe its low on fluid and is throwing codes and stopping the switches from working before it messes something up. I've read a few different forums and is could be the actuated, control module or switch panel. The only way to really find out is to be able to plug it into a scanner, but being so far from one is the biggest issue. Just trying to get input and hopefully someone who has experienced this problem can help. Thank you jw for yours.

Update......again. The t-case does seem low on fluid. I took the ecoder motor off and took all the plastic crap off. there was water inside the motor casing, so i wiped the motor itself off, and let it dry a bit. Once putting it back in, now the t-case is stuck in neutral. The control panel lights are working now, but showing 2hi light, 4lo light and neutral. It seems that i can get it to do anything though. How would i go about adding fluid to the t-case without a transfer pump or taking the case out? And could that be the issue? I am in dire need of getting this figured out as i need to get out and find some work and get my kids to their doc appts. I also need to figure out whether or not i screwed the tranny up in the process. Before it went into neutral it went to four low. After the light stopped blinking, i threw the selector into reverse, heard a loud clunk and dont know if that might have been the sunshell again, or the t-case actually getting out of gear into neutral. Please help!!!!!! Im not the greatest at this electronic stuff. (note: now that the t-case is in neutral, the service 4wd light is off, but the cel is on now.)
i think there is a fill/check port on the side. kind of doubt thats your issue though. hate to send you somewhere else but there is alot of info on troubleshooting that tcase on full size chevy

Yeah, I'm starting to lean more on then stinking encoder motor. Im looking around now to see if I can just replace the whole tranny t-case setup for a decent price. Figured I'd probably go through less stress that way.
doubt you can get it for less that a encoder that case has issues with rubbing a hole through from the inside of the front output shaft. so the good jy ones are likely either scarce or expensive

True there. I'm keeping my eye out on CL, not too much luck right now. Our salvage yards here only charge 55 bucks for a tranny, and 60 for a t-case, but at a price like that they most likely don't have any.
