Just a thought.. is it possible that the oil filter collapsed? Would that cause similar symptoms?

update. i text him and said no, after talking him down from 4500 to 3900. his "bottom dollar"

he said "fine. i fixed the light anyway so itll be easier to sell to the next person"

the car is now priced at 2700 on craigs.

I'm glad you walked away from that one. Who would be stupid enough to sell a car with a low oil pressure issue if the fix was easy to do. You would fix it, then sell it.

I am quite sure the curber will be selling it to some single mother or the like. A lot of very bad people hustling cars all over Craigslist.

There are lots of possibilities as discussed above it looks a sensor issue or oil pressure issue but not sure about that. We need to take this vehicle to a garage because without observing cannot identify the issue.
