Husbands 2007 Chevy Express 5.3 L van died on the way to work, would not restart and stay running, all electrical worked fine. Had it towed home and replaced the fuel pump as that was determined to be the issue. We actually cut an access panel in the floor to replace the pump as the tank had just been filled up with $70 worth of gas. First fuel pump was bad! Second fuel pump is good, but the van won't stay running. One question is whether or not something needs to be reset on the computer? Or what other possibilities could it be?

Does it lose fuel or spark when it won't run?

So . . . it doesn't lose fuel, it doesn't lose spark, and I'm assuming it doesn't lose air. Based on this, it must be losing something or else it would be running.

We need to know what the fuel pressure is with the ignition on.

Don't have a number but he says it is good as when they disconnect the line you can hear the pressure.

That won't work, we need an actual pressure, not 'fuel sprayed out'. Countless times we've chased an issue when it ended up being the fuel pump because the person never put a gauge on it like we asked.
