I have 3 Chevy 2500HD trucks, 1999 pickup and Suburban and a 2000 pickup. all are the "88-98" CK style trucks with 5.7 Vortec engines. two are base models with cable controlled HVAC and I can't seem to find replacement cables anywhere, either from the dealer or aftermarket. The GM part numbers are 15955577 and 15955576. Does anyone know where I can get new cables or know how tough it is to retrofit for the electric actuators?

Some chumming on the interwebbs has scared up this source:

These things are getting mighty pricey. Have you tried looking on the salvage yard fronts?

I have found a few sites that listed these for sale, but when I tried to order them the order was cancelled due to discontinued parts. I'd rather go new than replace a cable with one as bad as what I have.

I guess maybe I should reword this, has anyone personally purchased these anywhere? every place I try to order from sends me a message the next day that these are not available.
