Default abs code c1218 open ground or short

hey all. the 00 impy has been acting up lately. abs light comes on at random times and that is the only recurring code. i have seen some pretty crazy ones. pump motor stalled pump motor malfunctioning random wheel speed sensors bad, but that is the only one that always comes back. (c1218 open ground or short) some places i have looked say it could be the engine ground. but before i go tracing the negative battery cable all over the car, i was wondering if any of you had any tips. thanks alot guys!

i would clean the ground, random issues usually boil down to lack of power or ground.
