on page 4 of the PDF but really page 1 it shows the CAT light and on the 2004 it will show that if its working fine it stays solid but if its being tested or doesnt work it flashes but on the 97 it doesnt even light up as an option

could it from being red hot have damaged it ? the whole front half of it tuirned red hot like when u use a cutting torchh and heat metal turned red glowing hot

ill replace the wires off a 97 sunfire i jsut put brand new ones on it and spark plugs

so at least the CAT or HCA should be available?

neither of those light up for the 97 not sure what the hca is

heated cat, not sure it needs to have one of the cat monitors

Maybe just you scanner wont interface with it. I know some scanner wont do as much as other. Maybe yours wont on that model and year. Just an idea.

so then i cant tell if cat working or not then damn

how about O2S and HTR? maybe it just monitors the o2'* thats not going to tell you anything helpful. probably just have to drive it and see.
