Angry 2014 Chevrolet Captiva HVAC issue (no heat)

On an older car I know what to check and as they're a fairly simple system, but these newer cars and this electronic HVAC for all I know there'* a known issue with a relay or actuator or who knows. Which is what I'm asking, is their any known cause of the HVAC controls not yeilding heat when they should? I turn the temp setting full on heat, fan on, (not auto) and vent to the desired ones (not auto or defrost) and I get ambient air.... wtf!? Give me back cables or vacuum lines! That ***** easy to fix! This is my wifes car (our family car) winter is coming, I need that car/SUV/crossover thing to have heat, it went from working fine to nothing. Engine temp is fine hovering in the low to mid 180'* when driving. (would have expected higher on these newer cars, more like 195-210 *shrug*)

First, you have to find the air temp actuator under the dash, then with HVAC activated, change temp control from full cold to full hot, and see if the actuator moves....if it doesn't, remove actuator and manually move the door to see if you have a temp change.....if you do, than either bad actuator or control head....this is determined by checking voltage and grounds of the circuits to the actuator....

Excellent, would there happen to be any drawings of where the actuator is located? I don't want to pay God only knows what for a FSM, but I probably should get one for it.

Just noticed today that none of the vents change, so I'm going to start hunting the fuses for the HVAC, the controls lights and fan speed as well as A/C button all still work.

Well, couldn't find a fuse that dealt with the HVAC that was fried.

Luckily, it all started randomly working again....I hope it stays that way.

What happened is the car got logic locked. Next time if this happens remove both of the battery cables and hold them together for 30 seconds. Kinda a common problem with newer cars.

I've experienced the exact issue. I have replaced the climate control module 3 times in the last month. The system works great for a short time then it stops working. It has only cold air and airflow diverter gets stuck on one set of vents. Could this be the same issue (Logic Locked)? If so, I disconnect both battery cables and hold the ends of the cables together for 30 seconds correct? Does that cause an automatic reset?
