Default 2011 equinox crabbing

Hi, am newbie to the forum, but I have an issue and would like some advice as to what I can do to rectify this situation.

I own a 2011 Equinox, with 2.4L 4 banger engine (new pistons, rings and bearings changed at 80k due to an oil leak covered by GM). It has 160k on the odomenter. sbout 3 months ago I noticed that the wheels when turned feel like they are dragging. I think the term is called "crabbing" Some say...sell it, a mechanic has told me that perhaps there are issues with the transfer case but $$$$.

Is there a fix for this issue other than selling it?

Service your brakes. THat means clean and lube the hardware and ensure you dont have any sticking calipers etc

I don't see if mentioned anywhere yet: This is an AWD, right?

Then while I'm here asking stuff:

Has this had an alignment recently?

How many miles on the tires?

What pressure are the tires inflated to?

If the fluid hasn't been changed in the transfer case and the differential, change it.

If the problem persists, a good test might be to disconnect the drive shaft from the transfer case, and remove the half shafts from the rear hubs, then take it for a drive and see if the problem disappears.

OK, will try both suggestions.

So am I!

Did testing that we discussed lead toward replacing these or was some other discovery made?

Default crabbing

Dear Cub,
Well I was hopeful that all of the crabbing would disappear, however, turning left shows the same signs as prior to changing the diff and transfer case oil. rrght turns ok. Next step is to have a look at the brakes to see if something is hanging on when it should be letting go.

Thx. for the followup.

Shucks!

I wonder if you are able to provide a video that can show us this?
