Understood, I was skipping ahead with my question. If I do have the access door on the top it seems I can pull the sender out for inspection without draining the tank. THanks

Why not have the dealer install a data recorder it can be triggered by you just before you drive it.this recording can be sent to technical assistance for further review if the tech doesnt see the problem.These recorders have been around awhile and are great for intermittents.Maybe this would be a better approach for you and the dealer
