mike, the reason i said do not submerge is i let mine sit in some carb cleaner and it fried the IAC to the point the car was doing exactly what he said his is doing. i dont know which killed it (carb cleaner or submersion) so i just wanted to aire on the side of caution.

If you totally submerge it then yeah that could possibly ruin it, but using it to soak, or clean just the pintle is fine, just avoid getting it on the plastic, or electrical contacts for the sensor.
