Default 2005 Eqinox heat cross over pipe....

My daughter has an 05 Equinox (3.4 Engine). I just replaced the lower intake manifold gasket...... to do so I had to remove the heater crossover pipe.... it was difficult to get out and needed a small pry tool to get it up.... there was no "oring" or gasket at the end of the pipe.... therefore I was concerned about leaks upon putting it back together..... sure enough I had a very small drip coming from that pipe after everything was put back together...... First....why no oring on the end of that thing, and secondly, what am I to do now to stop that small drip coming from the pipe??
