Put on new alt and battery ground, 4 wheel won't engage. Hit the button and the light will flash a few times and stop. After I try it a few times the lights won't even flash unless I leave it alone for a few minutes.

hit the button,

i have never had to replace one but there are three common problems and you replaced two. the other is called a encoder motor on the transfer case. if you do some googling there are tons of posts on what it does and that.

Agree with the encoder motor causing an issue. One other thing to try is removing and cleaning the ground on the frame right under the driver side door.

How about a high voltage. I just noticed that my truck started having issues with 4x4 being engaged or partially engaged after i setup a dual battery setup with battery isolater ofcourse.

Hmmmm?
