I have this same code on my '96 Cavalier. It gives off fuel smells at times. I would like to replace the purge solenoid to see if the code goes away, but I'm having a hard time getting to it. It'* on the rear of the engine below the throttle body.

What'* the best way of tackling this? I can't see anything over the engine and can't reach anything below the engine.

I had same codes, but I changed gas caps and it went away for 6 months. Now I can not fill gas tank fast since it sat empty for 4 months. Something might have rusted closed. It tanks 20 minutes to get $5.00 gas in. The pump keeps shutting off due to back pressure. Change vent valve, no change. Is there a roll over valve in the tank?

May want to check the fill tube. The pump will also shut down if gas splashes on the nozzle. I get that if I put teh nozzle in all the way. I pull it out about a inch and have no problems.
