Default 2001 impala ls 3.8 v6 issue

I have a 2001 impala ls 3.8l with the 4t65e transmission and it runs great most of the time but then randomly it has a problem. When it had the problem you go to take off from a stop and it kills the engion.engine. then when you try to start it and put it in drive it Jenks and kills its self again. If you shift to neutral or rev it moves just fine. If you unhook the battery wait a little while and play with it a bit it will take off just fine and keep working.

Sounds like the converter may be having an issue locking.
Do you have a scan tool? If the converter locks while at a stop it'* like dropping the clutch in a stick shift.

That is a common problem. You can snip the wire to the TCC solenoid. It will not get as good of mileage.

Do you by chance know what color wire I would be on the outside of the transmission? I have been trying to look it up but can only find inside trans.

That should be the brown wire at pin 'T' on the connector.

That 5 minute rule is stupid.
Here'* a diagram. Yours if different will still have the same wire color for the TCC

If it'* the TCC it will confirm it. Fixing it after that is up to him. I've seen many be snipped and are fine for years. Not a fix but easy and cheap.
