I would suggest staying away from after market pumps and do with a good AC delco or a Delphi pump. Airtex and Dorman seem to be nothing but trouble. Rockauto usually has about the best prices on AC stuff.

Let'* pause for a minute here.

Is there anything else not OEM on this car that we should know about that would aid us in figuring out what'* wrong?

nope, only that is aftermarket, i always use delco or delphi.

also, looks like that when it dosnt drop to 0 it goes to 100 and then goes to 30 psi and stays there.

Daniel, if your choice is always AC Delco or Delphi, and you have to get a pump, might I suggest choosing the Delphi. It is normally less pricey, is almost certainly the OEM unit in the vehicle and is the same thing you'd also get in the AC Delco box. Delphi split from GM control back in '99 I think it was and but is still a supplier of OEM components and the AC Delco line which is mostly outsourced anyway. Delphi makes the fuel pumps and various other electronic controls for them, and actually many other major suppliers/manufacturers, in China.

Daniel , I can't get a copy of the GM Technical Service Bulletin right now that addresses, in typical GM "we didn't screw up" fashion, the fuel pump harness problem that has plagued our design fuel pumps. The burned/melted/toasted/loose connectors have been the cause of fuel delivery problems for years. The issue using a factory replacement pump that would concern me (and the reason we didn't use them in our GPs) is if it still has the original square four pin connector design that was the root of that problem.

When I first started to read this I was thinking what TECH II was thinking about the MAF sensor, but 100psi of fuel is double what is needed. Mike1995 was right spec. is 48-55 +/- a few. We are starting to see a lot of newer vehicles with bad fuel pumps generating 100 psi, but I would want to rule out the pressure regulator first. A restriction in the return fuel line can also make the pressure go through the roof. Make sure your lines under the car have not been damaged.

Let us know what you find?
Good Luck!
