Question From Northstar (N*) to LS4 Swap Information

I have a 97 Cadillac Sedan Deville with N* engine that is burning and leaking oil and I want to put a more reliable engine in it, and heard that an LS4 engine would work well for the purpose since I’m not looking to improve performance, just reliability. What do I need (Materials)-(Mods) to make this swap happen? Thank You for your time and knowledge sharing!

I did a quick google search and found several people have done it. You will need, the engine, matching trans, CV shafts, harness and PCM. And probably access to a tuner or send the PCM out for vin calibration etc.

My $0.02 : Seems like a lot of work to go to to solve oil leaks and consumption. How much are you losing? Do you think the transmission is up to dealing with the extra torque off an LS ?
