Default Escalade Dual Battery Set-Up

2007 Escalade Dual Battery Set-Up

Searching for the forum with info on a dual battery simple parallel wiring setup for a 2nd battery
I am unable to find one with info (ie exact wiring etc.)

Anybody have any info or good information links

Keep the batteries the same age/make/model/size.

So it is ok to just hook your main positive to BATT #1 then
run another cable from the Positive on BATT #1 to Positive BATT #2

This is what I have been trying to ensure is ok to do, I was also made to
believe that the GROUND on each BATTERY should be separate is this correct ?

Either way you are in parallel.

Negative and ground are the same thing on your car.

Thinking about my response, I didn't give a complete answer to the big picture of your question. If you connect the negative side of second battery straight to ground, it needs to have the same size cable and same connectors etc. Otherwise, heavy draws on the overall combination would be uneven between the two batteries. All draws for that matter, but the heavy ones would be the most affected. If you daisy-chain like in my drawing, using equivalent cables, all of that potential is removed. This gets into what you are actually doing with the dual batteries. Electrical margin? Redundancy? Big sound system? Hydraulics? Powering your house in an emergency? Etc?
