Default 97 Deville RH mirror replacement - JB weld and getting mirror off

1997 Deville Elegance: The previous owner clipped the garage with the RH mirror and left it loose. When I finally got a chance to pull the RH mirror to see, the plastic interior piece/arm was broken in half. The rest looks good. It'* a clean break (i.e., they fit back together pretty well).

JB weld vs. try and find the interior piece, salvaged electric/heated full mirror somewhere?

Since my vehicle only has 40K miles, if I go with donor interior plastic, I would prefer to keep all my guts and just replace the plastic arm between the motor and the body of the car. How do you get that mirror glass off motor, and does it have to be set close to angle it was when it broke (gearing). Cant tell if mine had some memory setting on it or something that I need to try and match.

Lastly, the door interior triangular trim that covers mirror bolts has a weird clip I have never seen. Looking at its mating surface, I don't see how the heck the white clip even holds onto its target piece.

As always, thanks for the support!

I'd replace that mirror.

Do you mean not to try to separate mirror glass from the motor - or replace the entire unit body and all?

I'd super glue that broken plastic. Let it cure 24 hours then slather some more super glue on again. Let that cure 24 hours then reinstall and enjoy.

You can get one from a junkyard pretty cheap.

I got it JB Welded back together. I think she will work ;^) Ironically, I went to a salvage yard today for a part for a 2005 Toyota Sienna. An lo and behold, they just got a 1997 Deville in 3 days ago. In good shape. Great donor car with matching interior as mine. Looks like someone had alreayd gone for the shock air control on one side. They left the drivers side window open, arg/ Im going back tomorrow and going cover that door. Dont want rain killing the drivers side door panel if I need parts.
