Actually, it'* easier to remove the side cover of a 4T60E, than a 4T65E, because of the mount....
But that code is not the cause of your 1st gear start....proper diagnosis is imperative.....you could be pulling a transmission apart when it could be a harness problem....
You will need a schematic of the Transmission harness, to check that everything is ok going into the tranny....

cant remove side cover because my subframe is in the way and the body is in the way topside

How do you think we get them off?
Naturally, we have lifts, but on the ground it can be done...........
First, jack up the front end and put on blocks/jack stands(apply ebrake and block rear wheels)......
Remove DS wheel......
remove pinch bolt and separate intermediate shaft(DO NOT ROTATE THE STEERING WHEEL) from rack and pinion....
Remove axle bolt, drive axle inward to loosen from bearing.....
disengage ball joint......now you can remove left axle from tranny....
place a piece of 2x6 under transmission pan with a hydraulic jack....
Slightly loosen cradle bolts on PS.....
remove transmission mount bolts from cradle, so mounts are free of cradle........
now remove the cradle bolts on the DS, and lower cradle on DS.....the engine tranny is still held up by jack.....
Now slowly lower the jack, and the tranny will tilt down enough and you will have clearance to remove that side cover....have pan under there to catch any fluid.......you will need new gaskets, and now would be a good time to replace the axle seal......
You have to have some mechanical knowledge to do this.....
But like I said, you DON'T ATTEMPT TO DO THIS UNTIL PROPER DIAGNOSIS IS DONE FIRST!

What they ^^^^^ said. The TCC-solenoid code is likely related to the larger issue of no control input to the transaxle. Still seems like a wiring issue.
Proper diagnosis will save you lots of time and money here.
If you were saying "loud growling sounds and a clank" we'd all tell you that it needs to be overhauled.
