Default Transmission Jerks When Cold

I have a 2001 Buick Regal LS and when it'* cold and the RPMs are high it jerks when I put it in gear. If I wait until the RPMs decrease as the as the engine warms up it'* smooth. I used to have a 3.1 liter Grand Prix with a 4t60-E and I never had this problem. Is there something in the trans that should soften the jerk under high RPM conditions? Any help will be appreciated.

If you drop all the way down to 1st, does it still do this? It could be a problem with the forward servo piston. This is on the back outside of the transmission. When cold the piston my not be moving smoothly and causing a jerk. Over time the cylinder walls get very smooth and harsh shifting is what happens. The cylinder walls can be scuffed up a bit and correct the problem. I've done a few of these with great results.

The same thing happens to mine. Up until it gets heated it jerks. And then theres the other problem where it doesn't catch the gears that I was talking about

I will have to wait until I get my car back together to check it if I shift to first. It does it in reverse and forward when the RPMs are high. Once they come down, it doesn't do it anymore. Even a coup minutes after I start it when the RPMs come down it'* smooth.

It'* a bit normal in the Regals. Have you tried flipping the mounts or checking to see if the ones at the radiator support are looking worn?
