Trans will not shift to 2nd gear
1st time poster but have been an avid reader for years.
I have a 2005 Buick LaSabre 3.8L with 4T65E trans, 165,000 miles, been having a problem with the car not shifting from 1st to 2nd gear then I presume shifting into neutral until I got down to a few MPH then repeat, if I moved the shift lever from Overdrive to 3rd it still would not shift to 2nd but it didn't shift to neutral, there are and never were any codes.
Did a filter and oil change and installed a TransGo shift kit, shifts now but seems to shift a little later than I remember, if I drive it normal it shift as I remember, if I drive like grandma or get on it a little it shift harder, is this okay?
Is this a permanent fix or should I be planning on taking the side cover off the trans and putting in a solenoid kit in it in the future?
Your help is greatly appreciated,

It'* been a few days now, the car shows all the symptoms as stated above for about 15 minutes of driving when clod then is back to a normal shift. Any thing else I can do or is my next step replacing the shift solenoids?

The solenoids have no effect on shift quality. The accumulator is the cushion. That and line pressure determine shift quality. The solenoids open and close channels in the valve body to direct fluid flow.
