Default Thermostat for LeSabre?

I've seen alot of the conversations about the 180 thermostat and tranny coolers. How important is it? I do have the plastic upper intake, but no problems so far. I also have a very small (maybe 3x5") tranny cooler mounted in a fairly vulnerable position near the fuel filter. Should this be bigger and mounted up front? We have pretty hot summers here. Your input would be appreciated.

Yes get a bigger trans cooler and go for the 180 unit its worth it. A local rad shop can do it for you if you are not inclined and the same shop can clean out your cooling system while they are in there.
