Default Something Odd,99 ,Park Ave

First let me say hello all, my first post. I Have a 99 Park Ave Ultra , and after it sits for about 15 min if you open a door the trunk pops open. Has any one had anything like this ever happen , I'm not sure where I should start looking for the problem .

ive never had that but thinking about it, either the where the wires come together they are chafing, like the lights and the trunk pop under the dash frontdriver side. i think there is one module for those that may be bad too. i dont have time to get into the drawings right now but if you have a manual, find out where those go and check it out

If your trunk button is on the door. Likely the issue is in the boot where the wires get bent each time you open the door.

Thanks for the responses , the release button is actually in the dash , a friend of mine said he thought it could be a loose ground somewhere ,I was wondering if there might be a key area to look in.

I will check for that module under the dash and see what i have there ,I've checked all of the ground wires I can see ,all of those look good.

maybe try to lock the button? or if that doesnt work you could pop that panel off (the fuel door and trunk release button panel pull straight out) and unhook it and see if that works? i know it doesnt fix the problem but it might work for the time being... my best guess is the body control module acting up.

I get the impression that the only place these two systems interact is in the Remote Keyless Entry system. Now, I don't know how you would even begin to troubleshoot something like this, but take this guess for what it is worth.

Well after tracking down every ground wire and checking them nothing turned up. I was also having a problem with the pass. side climate control also ,I switched out the door motor with a known good one and it not helping I decided to swap out my BCM ,low and behold my problems where fixed .

Thanks for the help folks ,I did notice in another post a diag. which showed the trunk release wiring . I looked at it and noticed that it'* ground runs through the BCM ,and thought it was worth a shot.
